When reporting a problem
Please include your Kelvin version, macOS version, Mac model, and the steps that led to the problem. For display issues, include the monitor model, connection type, and any other display tools you use.
Send only what’s relevant. A screenshot is optional; remove private information first. Kelvin’s color changes won’t appear in screenshots, so describe what the screen looks like.
Common questions
Which Macs and displays are supported?
Kelvin requires macOS 26 or later. It works with the built in display and compatible directly connected external displays. AirPlay, Sidecar, and DisplayLink displays are not supported.
I can’t see a change in screen color.
- Open Kelvin from the menu bar and check that it is enabled and not paused.
- Try the Evening preset or a temperature around 3000 K.
- Check whether an app or display rule is keeping the active screen in true colors.
- Turn off the built in night mode of macOS and quit other color apps while testing.
Some displays and connection methods do not support the color adjustments Kelvin uses. If the problem continues, email your display and connection details.
Why do screenshots look unchanged?
Kelvin changes how your display shows colors. It does not change the content of your files, screenshots, or screen recordings. To share a color issue, describe it in your message; a screenshot cannot capture the display adjustment.
How can I temporarily see true colors?
Hold the peek hotkey configured in Kelvin’s settings, pause Kelvin from the menu, or turn it off. App and display rules can keep selected work in true colors automatically.
How does the sunset schedule work?
Kelvin estimates sunset and sunrise locally from your Mac’s time zone. It doesn’t request your precise location. For times that suit your routine more closely, choose a custom schedule in settings.
How do I sync presets with iCloud?
Sign in to the same Apple account on both Macs, enable iCloud Drive, and enable preset sync in Kelvin’s General settings. Both Macs need an App Store or TestFlight build of Kelvin with iCloud support. iCloud changes may take time to appear.
Turning sync off stops future preset synchronization on that Mac. It does not automatically delete preset data already stored in iCloud.
Can I use Kelvin with other display utilities?
Apps such as f.lux, Lunar, and BetterDisplay may also adjust display colors. Use one color app at a time to avoid overrides. Turn off the built in night mode of macOS so the color effects do not stack.
How do I request a refund?
App Store purchases and refund decisions are handled by Apple. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem website and sign in with the Apple account used for the purchase.
